Wet or electric?
Wet underfloor heating (manifold + pipes) is more economical and pairs with a boiler or heat pump — suitable as the main heating for whole houses. Electric heating mats and films are ideal for smaller areas (bathroom, kitchen) as supplementary heating or in renovated rooms where the floor cannot be broken up. Not sure which to choose? Installation
Wet underfloor heating is laid by milling channels into the existing floor or by pouring a new screed over the pipes. Electric heating mats are laid directly in the tile adhesive.
