Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we are asked most: ordering, delivery and payment, but above all finding the right part, warranty and returning technical items. Can’t find your question? Contact us via the Contact page; a photo of the rating plate is often the quickest way.

Ordering, payment and delivery

How long does delivery take?

Stock items ordered on a working day before 14:00 leave the Netherlands the same or the next working day; delivery within the EU usually takes 3–5 working days. Items marked “special order” come directly from the manufacturer or wholesaler; the expected delivery time is shown on the product page.

What does delivery cost?

€ 17.95 per order to Austria, Denmark, Italy, Spain and Sweden, and € 24.95 per order to the other EU countries (including VAT), regardless of the number of parts. We only ship items that fit in a parcel (up to 32 kg): no boilers, heat pumps, hot water cylinders, radiators or home batteries. For the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France please use instalpunt.nl, instalpunt.be, instalpunt.de and instalpunt.fr. Details on Shipping & payment.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Card (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay and Klarna. All payments go through the secure payment provider Mollie. Prices include the VAT of your country; there are no customs duties because we deliver within the EU.

Do you supply businesses?

Yes. With a free business account you see prices excluding VAT, receive invoices in your company name with your VAT number and have your own customer number and order history. More on Business account.

Finding the right part

How do I know which part fits my boiler, heat pump or ventilation unit?

Ideally with three details: the brand of the appliance, the exact type or model number and, if legible, the article or manufacturer number of the old part. These are on the rating plate. Then search our spare parts catalogue by brand, appliance or part number; the product page shows which appliances the part fits. If in doubt, check with the manufacturer or your installer before ordering.

Where is the rating plate on my appliance?

On a gas boiler usually underneath or behind the front flap; on Intergas and Remeha often underneath, on Nefit Bosch behind the control flap or on the side. On a heat pump it is on both the indoor and the outdoor unit; on a ventilation unit behind the front panel or on the side of the casing. Photograph the brand, type, serial number and any product codes. Do not remove covers if that is not safe or would give access to gas or live parts.

Is the brand of my appliance enough to order the right part?

No. One brand has several series, years and versions with different parts. A pump, sensor or PCB from Intergas, Remeha, Nefit Bosch, Vaillant or ATAG can look the same and still have a different connection, software version or dimensions. Always order on the basis of the full appliance type and, where possible, the part number of the old part.

Fitting and safety

May I replace a boiler part myself?

Not every part. Work on gas-carrying parts, the burner, gas valve, heat exchanger, flue and recommissioning must be done by a qualified gas engineer. Outside the sealed combustion section, a competent DIYer can often replace a siphon, room thermostat, thermostatic radiator head or ventilation filter; always follow your appliance’s manual. We will tell you honestly when an engineer is needed.

Do you offer installation?

No. Instalpunt supplies parts within the EU but does not install them. Please use an installer near you.

Warranty, original and alternatives

How does the warranty work?

Our products are covered by the statutory guarantee and, where applicable, by the manufacturer’s warranty. Duration and conditions vary by product. More on our warranty page.

What is the difference between an original and an alternative part?

An original part is made by or officially supplied for the manufacturer of your appliance and carries its part number. An alternative part comes from another manufacturer and is offered as compatible. For technical installations we recommend the original when the manufacturer requires it, when the part is safety-related (gas valve, burner, ionisation, flue parts, PCB) or when compatibility is not certain.

Returning technical items

Can I return my order?

Yes. For stock items you have a 14-day right of withdrawal after receipt; notify us within that period, then you have another 14 days to send the product back, complete and if possible in its original packaging. Return shipping is at your expense; we refund the order amount including delivery costs within 14 days. See Returns.

Can I return a part that has been fitted or used?

To a limited extent. You may examine a product as you would in a shop. If a part has already been fitted, connected, used or damaged, a reduction in value may be charged. So only fit a part after checking the type, connection and application.

Faults and identification

What can I safely check before ordering a part?

The water pressure (cold, between 1.5 and 2 bar), the thermostat (batteries, setting, programme), whether the gas valve is open and the appliance has power, and whether the siphon or condensate drain is blocked. One reset is fine; if the code returns quickly, do not keep resetting. Anything behind the casing in the combustion section is work for a qualified engineer.

How do I find the part if I only have the old part number?

Enter it in the search box of the spare parts catalogue; we search by manufacturer number, article number and EAN. If nothing comes up, the number may have been superseded. Send us a photo of the number and of the rating plate and we will look up the successor for you.
