How does an infrared panel work?
An infrared panel does not heat the air; it radiates heat to people, the floor, walls and furniture, just like the sun. You feel the warmth immediately, even while the air is still cool. As a result the thermostat can often be set 1 to 2 degrees lower than with a convector heater. A panel is silent, maintenance-free and has no moving parts.
How much output do I need?
As main heating, allow 50 to 70 W per m² of floor area in a well-insulated room, and 25 to 35 W per m² as supplementary heating alongside central heating. Position the panel so that it warms the spot where you sit: above the sofa, the desk or the dining table.
Controls and connection
This panel is supplied without a thermostat. With a separate thermostat with receiver, the panel only switches on when the room cools down. For ceiling mounting or a fixed connection, have it installed by a qualified installer.
