Part of the guide Home battery, EV charger and electric heating

Short answer: yes, at Instalpunt you can pay for a home battery later with Klarna. You choose Klarna at checkout; Klarna assesses your application immediately and shows which options you get (pay after receipt or in instalments). If the application is approved, the order is paid as far as we are concerned and delivery goes ahead as normal; you settle with Klarna later. Instalpunt charges no extra costs for Klarna or any other payment method. If you prefer to pay straight away, you can do so by credit card or Apple Pay. Ordering on account as a business is not possible; business customers also pay at checkout.
Which payment methods does Instalpunt offer?
All payments are processed by the payment provider Mollie. At checkout you will see these options:
| Payment method | How it works | When it is useful |
|---|---|---|
| iDEAL | You pay directly via your own bank. The order is paid immediately. | The fastest route; most customers choose this. |
| Klarna | Klarna pays us; you pay Klarna later, in one go or in instalments, depending on what Klarna offers you. | You want to have the battery at home and see it working first, or spread the cost. |
| Credit card (Visa, Mastercard) | Charged directly to your card. | Also for customers outside the Netherlands. |
| Bancontact and KBC/CBC | Direct bank payment for Belgian customers. | Orders from Belgium. |
| Apple Pay | Pay with your iPhone or Mac, without typing in your details. | Quick checkout on your phone. |
Instalpunt charges no surcharge for any of these methods. The price shown on the product page, for example € 1,098 for the Marstek Venus E 3.0, is the amount you pay, including VAT; shipping costs are shown at checkout.
How paying later with Klarna works
- Add the battery to your basket and go to checkout. Fill in your name and address in full; Klarna assesses the application on the basis of those details.
- Choose 'Pay with Klarna'. You are redirected to Klarna, where you identify yourself with your phone number or email address.
- Klarna assesses the application. This happens automatically and within a few seconds. Klarna decides for itself whether you are approved and which payment options you see. Instalpunt does not see that assessment and cannot change anything about it.
- Confirm with Klarna. You return to instalpunt.com and receive our order confirmation. For us the order is now paid: we arrange shipping of the battery.
- Pay Klarna on the agreed date via the Klarna app or the payment link in Klarna's email. Questions about the payment term, an extension or a payment arrangement should be addressed to Klarna; we have no access to that.
If your application is declined, that is Klarna's decision based on your details and your previous payment behaviour. We are not shown the reason. You can then still pay by credit card or Apple Pay; the order and the price stay the same.
Klarna and a home battery of € 1,098 or more
Whether Klarna accepts an amount of € 659 (Venus E Mini), € 1,098 (Venus E 3.0) or € 2,399 (Venus E Max) depends on Klarna's assessment, not on a fixed maximum at Instalpunt. That is why we deliberately do not mention a limit. Incidentally, most buyers of a Venus E pay us straight away by credit card; Klarna is the option for those who prefer to pay the amount later or in instalments. Whether that is possible for your order, you will see immediately at checkout.
Please note with a pre-sale such as the Venus E 4.0: Klarna's payment term may start before the battery has been delivered. Check in the Klarna app when the amount is due. The same applies to the Venus E Max, which can currently only be ordered via our free reservation list. If you only want to pay once the battery is there, pay by credit card or Apple Pay at the moment we confirm delivery.
Cooling-off period and returns: what changes with Klarna?
Nothing about your rights. As a consumer you have a 14-day cooling-off period after receipt, even if you paid with Klarna. If you report within that period that you are returning the battery, you then have a further 14 days to return the unit to us, unused and in its original packaging. As soon as we have received and checked the return, we process the refund via Mollie to Klarna, and Klarna adjusts your outstanding amount or refunds what you had already paid. If Klarna's payment term is approaching while your return is still in progress, also report the return in the Klarna app; Klarna explains there how that works.
Two exceptions apply to every payment method:
- Special-order items. Products that are not on our shelves and are ordered specially for you from the manufacturer can be recognised by the label 'Special-order item' on the product page and in the basket. These cannot be returned. The Marstek batteries from our stock are not special-order items.
- Business orders. The statutory right of withdrawal only applies to consumers. If you order with a company name, company registration number or VAT number, there is no 14-day cooling-off period; stock items can only be returned by arrangement.
The full rules can be found in withdrawal and cooling-off period en returns.
Business: no payment on invoice afterwards
Installers, owners' associations and businesses order from Instalpunt via a business account: prices excluding VAT, an invoice in the company name with company registration and VAT number, your own customer number and an order overview. What we do not offer is ordering on account with payment afterwards. A business order is also paid when the order is placed, by credit card or one of the other methods above. Klarna is also available at checkout for a business order; whether Klarna accepts the application is up to Klarna. If you want several batteries for staff or a project, see the volume discount and the Christmas package; the discount is applied automatically in the basket.
Collection in Alblasserdam (Netherlands) and payment
If you collect the Venus E 3.0 in Alblasserdam (€ 1,100) or the Venus E Mini (€ 609), you also pay in advance online, using the same payment methods. Paying in cash or by card on collection is not possible. You will be notified as soon as your order is ready; the collection itself takes a few minutes.
