The SpiroTrap MB3 captures dirt and magnetite from the heating water before it reaches the new boiler. Almost every boiler manufacturer recommends a dirt separator when replacing a boiler: it extends the life of the heat exchanger and pump and prevents breakdowns. The MB3 rotates through 360° and therefore fits any pipe run.

Why fit a dirt separator with a new boiler?
Sludge and magnetite from old pipes and radiators get into the new boiler and clog the heat exchanger and pump. Manufacturers therefore recommend a dirt separator; some make it a condition of the warranty.
Can I mount the SpiroTrap MB3 horizontally and vertically?
Yes, the housing rotates through 360° and is suitable for horizontal and vertical pipes. Fit it in the return directly before the boiler.
How often should I blow down the SpiroTrap?
At the annual service, or more often in the first year after installation. Blow-down is possible during operation via the drain cock at the bottom.
