In-stock items usually arrive within 3–5 working days, made-to-order items within 5–7 working days (a longer lead time is shown on the product page). Your boiler’s protocol (EMS bus, OpenTherm or on/off) is stated in its installation manual.
Bosch EasyControl Adapter (Bosch part number 7736701654): makes the Bosch EasyControl suitable for boilers without EMS bus. The adapter sits between the boiler and the thermostat, needs its own power socket (18 to 230 V) and detects by itself whether the boiler uses OpenTherm or on/off.
Which boilers
- OpenTherm boilers of other brands (Intergas, Remeha, ATAG, AWB and others): modulating. Vaillant only in combination with the VR 33 module.
- Older Nefit boilers with iRT protocol: ProLine NxT, EcomLine (Excellent, Classic, Elite, Economy HRC 23V), Economy HR, Turbo HR.
- Bosch HRC I, HRC Top, HRS Top, if the OTM1 module is fitted.
- On/off boilers and district heating: on/off control only, no data readout in the app.
Not needed with
Nefit TrendLine, ProLine (without NxT), TopLine, BaseLine, SmartLine, 9000i, 2300i, 1200 and Bosch HRC II, HRS II, Compact, Condens 3000W/6000W: these have an EMS bus and work directly with the EasyControl.
Connecting
Two wires from the boiler to the adapter, two wires from the adapter to the thermostat. Switching on: first the thermostat, then the adapter, then the boiler. The adapter searches for OpenTherm for about one minute and otherwise falls back to on/off.
